Prior to scheduling an appointment, each individual will speak with the mediator via telephone to discuss the process and ask questions.
First Session
Review the Contract to Mediate
The contract explains the ground rules and the role of the mediator in the process.
Applicable Statutes of the State of Virginia Will Be Discussed
Pertinent information is provided to foster informed decision-making. No legal advise is given by the mediator. Both individuals are encouraged to meet with an independent attorney to understand their legal rights and options.
Financial Documentation and Budgets Discussed
You will be instructed to bring supporting documents and budgeting information to your next session.
Determine and Address the Most Immediate Needs as Necessary
